Disclosure of Material Connection: I received one or more of the products or services mentioned below for free in the hope that I would mention it on my blog. Regardless, I only recommend products or services I use personally and/ or believe will be good for my readers. I am disclosing this in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's 16 CFR, Part 255: "Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising."

Details: Located in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains of Virginia, Emerson Creek Pottery artisans are continuing the American tradition of handmade pottery in a contemporary way. Each pattern is artfully hand-painted onto the pottery using a Japanese Sumi-e brush… no templates or stencils here! These fine pieces have been featured at Monticello, Mt. Vernon and the Smithsonian Institute.

They offer a wide range of unique and beautiful pottery pieces ranging from dinnerware to bakeware, as well as vases, lamps, ceramic sinks, and so much more. Even the pets can be pampered with handcrafted pet bowls of their very own! All of Emerson Creek’s pottery pieces are microwave safe, dishwasher safe, and ovenproof. They are 100% non-toxic and lead free.

Personal Experience: I had so much fun choosing the piece that I would be reviewing… though it was very hard to pick just one! The designs on the pieces are stunning and I loved them all, but I opted for the basic copper color because it best fits with my home’s decor. I chose the Posie Pitcher. It is a small 8-ounce vessel that I knew would work well for a variety of uses.

The pitcher arrived very well packaged and survived delivery in perfect condition. The color in person was even more beautiful than in the pictures. It is only in person that you can truly appreciate the variations of color, but I tried my best to capture that in the photo above. If you glance at the rim of the pitcher, you can see that this is no lightweight, easily-broken piece. This is solid American pottery construction at its finest!

Well, you have to know from my reviews by now that I must thoroughly abuse everything sent to me to give you the low-down. This was no exception. That pitcher served up everything from syrup for waffles to gravy for mashed potatoes. It cleaned up quickly and was ready for the next task I would toss at it. I imagine it would work wonderfully for creamer when we have guests, too. I have already picked out the spot where it will work as a bud vase… displaying the lovely dandelion “flowers” that Xander will pick for me this spring. His taste in flowers improves a little later in the season when the lilacs bloom and I know the Posie Pitcher will complement those just as beautifully. ;)

I love my little Posie Pitcher and all the ways it has found a place in our home. Now I need to finish off my collection with just a few pieces. Hmmm? Where to start? A dinnerware set would be nice. A few bakeware pieces couldn’t hurt. That clock looks lovely. We are looking to remodel the bathroom and a hand-painted sink would be wonderful. I wouldn’t want the cats to feel left out…

Pros: Beautifully painted and sturdily handmade. Designs to suit every taste and pieces for everywhere in your home… even the bathroom!

Cons: Like with all quality handmade pottery, it can be a bit pricey but it is totally worth the cost.
