We have arrived at Day Nine of the 31 Day Blog Challenge! I have to tell y’all, I didn’t think I’d make it this far. I’m notoriously a procrastinator, so I was sure I would put it off each day until I forgot. It seems this challenge really is working to get me on task. 😉

So, today is about piercings and tattoos. I’m rather boring in that arena at this time. I have a pretty typical double piercing in each ear. I got the first piercing pretty young and added the second in my teens. I keep my earrings pretty basic. I like to wear a stud in the upper piercing and something dangly in the lower.

I did have a cartilage piercing on my ear lobe at one time, but when I removed the earring to clean it one day, a huge bubble formed on the backside of my ear around the piercing. It was hard and large enough to push my ear away from my head a bit. It took about a month to go away completely. The cartilage there is now broken and I can bend my ear lobe there. Very weird… probably a little gross… and I still have no idea what caused it.

I do not have tattoos… yet. I have always wanted to get one on the back of my neck. I favor the triquetra, but I’m less inclined to use it since it was used as the logo for the TV show Charmed. If I wear a triquetra, people ask me about the show and if I was a fan. It’s sort of lost its meaning to me because of this.

My husband Ross and I have also discussed getting tattooed wedding rings. His job and my knitting habits make rings a bit of a hindrance, so we don’t wear our rings often. This means our wedding rings spend more time in the jewelry box than on our fingers. We thought it would be fun to design a tattooed band and have it done around our tenth anniversary.

Do you have any tattoos or piercings?
