It seems like a lot of companies are making headphones for kids. The issue is that they are ultimately just shrinking adult headphones or making cheap knockoffs rather than realizing the unique needs of kids. You need headphones that are durable, comfortable, and safe. Bonus points if they are washable.

CozyPhones recently reached out to me and gave me a chance to test out their kid’s headphones. It didn’t take long to figure out that the CozyPhones are an amazing solution for kids and frustrated parents. First of all, they come in a variety of cute styles that kids will love to wear. They are part headphone and part headband, so they are a fun and functional accessory. Xander loves his Whatif Monster style, but you can also get a frog, smiley face, or panda. (They also have adult active and sleep styles in multiple colors.)

The CozyPhones are made of a soft fleece material that is washable. If you are reading this, you probably have or know a kid and know that washable is a big deal! The fleece did stretch out a bit with use and could get a little sweaty, but the fabric bounced back and cleaned up well. The actual earpieces can be removed and replaced very easily from the headband… just slip through the opening in back… so it’s not an annoying and lengthy process. This is also the way to adjust the earpieces so they are properly on the ear. Even the cord is well-designed. It is a strong braided cord that doesn’t twist and break like normal cords often will.

I was really impressed with the sound quality considering these are kids’ headphones. Many companies think kids don’t deserve the same quality as adults, but CozyPhones didn’t slack off just because this for the kiddos. 😉 It’s good clear sound for both music and spoken word. They don’t get overly loud, so it’s safe for little ears and you can still get your child’s attention if needed.

We made good use of these on a recent road trip. They were so comfortable that Xander fell asleep while wearing them. They lay flat against the head and the earpieces are very thin with some flex to them, so it didn’t hurt him at all. He even pulled them over his eyes to keep out sunlight and discovered CozyPhones can be used as a sleep mask too.

The only thing I could wish for a Bluetooth capability. I love that they are wired for those toys and devices that are not Bluetooth capable, but I like the freedom and safety of wireless devices.

Pros: Great sound. Comfortable. Washable fabric. Durable cord.

Cons: No wireless option.

I received this at a discount in exchange for my opinion. As someone who relies on honest reviews to make purchases, I work hard to provide other consumers with a thorough, truthful, and unbiased opinion of my personal experiences.
