Pattern: A basic toe-up pattern over 88 stitches
Yarn: KnitPicks Stroll Sock Yarn in Navy
Needles: Size 2.00 mm double-point needles
Made for: My husband
Notes: Another pair of socks for my husband that felt like I’d never finish them. This time I chose to make them toe-up. I wanted to see which fit my husband would prefer… and I like to mix up my sock techniques a little bit. It’s tough choosing colors he likes for socks, so I’m stuck in a limited range of blues and grays. This Navy blue is much darker than it appears in the photo.
The dark color and tiny stitches are rough on even the best of eyes, so I needed frequent breaks. I finished the first in the pair over a year ago and had set them aside for more interesting projects. I intended to work on a few rows at a time, but very rarely remembered to do so.
Last week on Wednesday, I was taking a look at my unfinished projects and set a goal that I had to finish all three pairs of socks and the dishcloth before the following Wednesday. I only had the toe of the second sock done on this pair, so I knew it was a very lofty goal… it took me months to finish the first sock! I actually did it with time to spare. I cast on my next two new projects on Monday.
