Pattern: A modification of Rocky

Yarn: Comfy by KnitPicks in Black

Needles: 2.25 mm double-point and circular needles for the crown, 1.75 mm for the brim

Made For: My sister-in-law Renae

Notes: I have decided that this hat simply didn’t like me. The final hat was the fifth version. I incorporated the Embossed Stitch from my scarf pattern because I am making a set that includes a black version of that scarf. Working this stitch in the round can also be a bit tedious. The version in the hat required me to purl every other round. I’m not a fan of purling in the round. :( Renae really liked the increase pattern on the crown of this hat, so I really wanted to make it work with my stitches. It took some modifying and hair-pulling, but overall I’m very happy with the results. The scarf is over halfway done and I’ve started on the first glove (more embossed stitch in the round… yay). I need to get moving on this project, because I want it done before I next see Renae.

(That’s me in the hat. I look like a burglar. Doesn’t help I was wearing all black.)
