Simply7Logo-300x132Details: Simply7 was formed when the creators noticed a distressing trend toward unrecognizable ingredients in the foods on grocery store shelves. They set out to create great-tasting foods that met their seven core standards…

  • 0 Grams Trans Fat and No Cholesterol
  • No Artificial Colors or Flavors
  • No Additives or Preservatives
  • Gluten Free Ingredients
  • All Natural Recipes
  • Simple Ingredients
  • Simply Delicious

These seven standards are the reason behind the name Simply7.

simply7bagsPersonal Experience: Simply7 provided me with a selection of their Hummus, Lentil, and Pomegranate chips in a variety of flavors. I’ll admit that I was pretty skeptical of the product line in general. In some cases, I was pleasantly surprised… in other cases I was right to be hesitant.

The Hummus flavors were our favorites. The chips were crunchy and satisfying. The Sea Salt and Tomato Basil flavors were our personal favorites… even my three-year-old couldn’t keep his hands out of the bag. These chips would be the ones I would buy to give my family a healthy, lower-fat alternative for snacking.

The Lentil flavors were our next favorites. They also had a satisfying crunch, but there was a slight after-taste to them. I have experienced this before in lentil-based chips. It was not as pronounced in the Simply7 brand as I’ve experienced in other brands and made these our favorite brand for lentil chips.

I wanted to like them, but I just didn’t like the Pomegranate flavors. My husband and mom shared my dislike. The Black Pepper flavor was the worst… the flavor was just way too intense.

simply7chipsOverall, I think that some of the flavors will be a great way to give your family a way to snack healthy. A few of the flavors will not be for everyone, but I recommend at least trying them! There were flavors that I didn’t think I would like that I ended up liking.

Pros: Healthy, flavorful chips with simple, recognizable ingredients. No fat, preservatives, fat, or cholesterol. Crunch and satisfying.

Cons: Some of the flavors were just odd to me and my family… particularly the pomegranate selections.

  2. These chips are so good and addicting. I was really unsure when we first tried them because they were made with lentils but even my kids liked them.

    • I am always up for trying something new, but I was unsure too. I’d had some bad experiences with un-potato chips in the past, LOL

    • Can you believe I’ve never even eaten hummus? Vegetarian for 20 years and no hummus… I think that’s considered sacrilegous. :P

    • You can’t beat a classic combo like that… especially when you add the crunch of a chip. :)

  5. I actually LOVE the pomegranate ones – and I had to chuckle at your least fave flavor since that is the one I am eating! To be fair though, my youngest didn’t like the black pepper ones either, she said they were too peppery – but for me, and I like super bold flavors, it was perfect!

    • It’s so funny how much individual tastes can vary. I know a lot of people love the pomegranate, but I just wasn’t feeling it.

  7. It’s interesting to see different opinions and tastes. The pomegranate are my absolute fave and I buy them whenever I can. If we are ever on a plane together you can have the hummus and I’ll have the pomegranate. ;-)
