There are plenty of great things about paying a mom or a parent, as I’m sure my fellow parents will agree. You get to impart your wisdom of many years to another. You have a new life completely dependent on your love and affection. You get moments of magic with children who you have helped find their way in the world. Those are some of the benefits. The negatives? That’s the long hours staying up all the night, the childhood drama and of course, the terrible teens. But I think one of the biggest impacts of being a mom is how your confidence is knocked. Slowly, you start to feel less attractive and as though you’re aging faster than other people. Maybe it’s the long nights of no sleep or the stress of school troubles, but something doesn’t feel right.

It doesn’t look right either. One day you’ll look in the mirror, and you won’t recognise the weary eyes staring back at you. There will be wrinkles you never noticed before, thinning hair and dark bags. All these little things can bring the confidence we have in ourselves down to the floor. Here are some of the tips I recommend if you’re dealing with this issue.

Keep An Exercise Routine

Believe it or not, research shows that by exercising you can keep your body younger for longer. It’s true. So, throw out all those expensive facial creams. To keep looking young, all you need to do is head to the gym every once in awhile. In fact, you, don’t even need to go to the gym. All you need to do is start an exercise routine. Your routine could be anything, but I think you should try out this awesome seven minute routine.

That way, it will be taking very little time out of your regular parenting activities. But you’ll still get a good fitness routine underway. In fact, many experts agree that seven minutes of exercise can often be better for someone than the hours many people spend. This is particularly true if you have low body fat. If you have a body with low fat, you may still feel inclined to exercise and get in shape. I wouldn’t blame you. We all want our bodies to be slender and toned. The problem is that exercise for longer periods will cause you to burn muscle rather than fat. It’s the last thing that you want, and you need to be aware of this issue.

Alternately, instead of hitting the gym by yourself, you could exercise with your children. That way, you are getting the benefits of exercise, and you’re helping your kids stay in shape. I think I’ve mentioned this before, and I stand by the fact it’s a great way to keep fit, spending time with your family.

Look After Your Skin

One of the biggest signs of aging if of course your skin. You can complete all the exercise that you want. But if you don’t look after your skin you are going to look a lot older than your actual age. Not to worry though because there are easy ways to keep your skin rejuvenated. The first thing to think about is what you’re eating. Again, this might be difficult to believe,  but your diet has a huge impact on the way your skin both looks and feels. If you think your skin is pasty or dry, you may want to reduce the milk you’re drinking and increase water intake. If your skin often feels greasy, you should consider reducing the amount of sugar you are eating. Remember, sugar is present in almost every form of processed food. This includes meats, ready meals and of course, fast food. If you want to lower the amount of sugar, don’t focus on cutting out desserts. Instead, think about the meals packed with sugar that you are eating on a regular basis. As well as this, it’s worth pointing out that certain foods help replenish the skin. For instance, chomping down on some celery is a great way to get rid of the bags underneath your eyes.

You may also want to consider speaking to a dermatologist. Typically a dermatologist should be consulted if you have an issue with your skin that is seriously damaging your self-confidence. This might be a spout of adult acne or even a skin blemish you have always had. It’s important to realise that you don’t have to live with this condition, and there are treatments available. If you’re interested in this possibility, have a look at There you will find plenty of information on these types of conditions and treatment plans.

Aside from this, you may also like to consider the possibility of home beauty remedies. There are plenty of remedies you can try if you’re worried about the way you look. Unhappy with your teeth. Then perhaps you should give a teeth whitening treatment a try. You just need to mix baking soda with lemon juice until it forms a paste. After that, you can spread it in your teeth regularly. You will soon see positive effects. Your teeth will look as white as pearls in a few weeks.

Avoiding Stress

Of course, we can’t think about looking our best without taking stress into consideration. It’s true to say that stress causes more damage to the way we look than anything else. That includes our diet, skin treatment or even exercise. Stress can make your skin look worn; your hair to fall out and your body to bloat. As a parent, it can be difficult to avoid stressful situations, but there are ways to handle them. Exercise will help if you work away your stress on a regular basis. But I think it’s also important that you get a regular good night rest. Without a good sleep, your body doesn’t gain enough time to rejuvenate and recover from the stresses of the day. This causes you to age a lot faster, at least physically. To get a good rest, you might want to try calming down before you head to bed with some relaxation exercises. Find more about that on

I hope you can use my advice to feel better and have more confidence in the way you look.
