Personal Experience: I had heard many great things about Cloud b products, so I was very excited for the opportunity to try their Twinkling Firefly Frog in our own home.

When it arrived at our house, I was immediately surprised by how much larger it was than I actually expected. I was expecting something closer to the height of a baby bottle, but this is a full-size stuffed animal that is very rotund… great for cuddling! This adorable cuddler has all the basics for soothing babies and children including nightlights and soothing sounds.

The “twinkling” part of this frog comes in the belly. It looks like our friend has swallowed a few fireflies and they’re still blinking away in his belly! :) The lights are quite bright… bright enough to be a very effective night light but not enough to keep a baby or child from sleeping. The brightness varies a bit as fireflies fade in and fade out. The video below gives you an idea of what it looks like as it glows, but the actual glow spots do not look as large in person.

The Twinkling Firefly Frog plays cricket-like sounds or a lullaby. You can select between sound effects, lullaby, or silent by pressing a button hidden within one of his wrists. The other wrist button allows you to control the volume, which ranges from silent to very loud. You can hear samples in the video above.

I found the cricket sounds to be way too fast and it made them a bit annoying… especially at higher volumes. The music is crystal clear and free of the “tinny” sound you often see in toys that play music. As far as I can tell, it is just one song, but it is long enough and basic enough that it does not become irritating.

The toy construction is very good. The stitches all appear to be strong enough to withstand several years of cuddling. The embroidery on the eye is free of snags and loose threads. The battery compartment has a strong Velcro closure. My only issue was that this was a bit wrinkled and didn’t close properly. It’s hidden under the frog’s arm, so it doesn’t take away from the appearance.

Overall, the Twinkling Firefly Frog would make an adorable gift for a new mom, baby, or young child in your life. It will give many years of comfort and friendship to a little one.

Pros: Adorable, cuddly, and soothing for babies and children. Works great as a nightlight. Twinkling light effect is relaxing. Great music quality.

Cons: The “cricket” sound is too fast and slightly irritating.
