Okay, I’ll be the first to admit that I’m not the world’s biggest fan of clog shoes. There’s a particular brand that comes to mind right now that always reminded me of Jason and the ski mask from the horror movies… you know what ones I’m talking about… I know you do. This among a few other things sort of turned me off of the clog style shoes. Then I had the opportunity to review one of Therafit’s new Holiday Collection and I was intrigued by their Aspen Clogs. They were actually cute! Could Therafit change my mind?

My Aspens arrived in the customary Therafit packaging complete with a tote that’s great for safely stashing your shoes… or whatever else you may choose. I found the clogs even cuter in person and the color (I chose taupe) was perfect for my everyday style. It’s that perfect shade that can compliment just about every color you wear and also looks fabulous with denim. I love the little touches like the strap over the foot and the bit of embroidered flower. It adds a bit of extra feminine style without going over the top.

I have to say that my favorite thing is how easy they are to put on. It’s so nice to have the ease of a summer sandal in the cooler months! My foot is staying warm where it counts (those delicate toes), but I don’t have the hassle of lacing up boots. The weather here had been pretty cooperative with this plan too, until the recent cold snap and snow hit. I can still wear these most days that I am just walking in and out of buildings or around the house. Obviously, they are not designed for trudging through snow… but they are still comfortable even here in the bitter cold of Wisconsin. They’ve done really well even on slippery surfaces, thanks to the tough soles. I could see these easily becoming a year-round shoe for me. I want them in the Navy and Black too!

Like the other Therafit shoes that I’ve reviewed, these have the Personal Comfort Adapters. These adapters are three pegs in the sole of the shoe that allow you to adjust for your preferred impact resistance. Until you try it for yourself, it’s really hard to truly explain what a difference it can make to have this option. It is so great to be able to make a shoe fit the activities and surfaces that will be a part of your day. And, it’s so easy to change the adapters that I keep the spares in my pocket or bag to change as needed. On top of the Personal Comfort Adapters, the heel of the shoe cups your foot just right to keep your foot properly aligned and there is plenty of toe coverage to keep the shoe firmly on your foot.

Overall, I am once again happy with Therafit. If you’re going to do one good thing for yourself this year, make that buying yourself a great fitting and comfortable pair of shoes. It’s an investment you won’t regret!

Pros: Great stylish design that is basic but feminine. Great color choices. All the comfort I’ve come to expect from Therafit in an easy slip-on shoe.

Cons: My foot did slip a bit if I walked fast, but I’m told this is common with clog-style shoes.
