{Knit Stitches} Little Basketweave

knitstitch_basketweave1Notes: The Little Basketweave stitch is one of numerous forms of Basketweave stitches. This stitch produces little garter stitch and stockinette squares that would work well in a large variety of projects. You will commonly see basketweave worked into afghans, scarves, and bags.

Stitch Count: Multiple of 5 stitches plus 3.

Written Instructions:

  • Rows 1, 3, 5, & 7 (RS): Knit.
  • Rows 2 & 4: *K3, p2; rep from * to last 3 sts, k3.
  • Row 6 & 8: K1, *p2, k3; rep from * to last 2 sts, p2.
  • Repeat rows 1 through 8 to the desired length.
