It was a rainy, dreary, and muggy day here. I had so little motivation and didn’t get my exercise in… though I did work up a sweat cleaning the house in the morning and dancing to some music in the evening. I started my day late, so my first few meals were small to allow me to get back on schedule for the day.
I started off my day with the frozen Cinnamon Roll. This one is so much better than the shelf stable version. It’s not very filling all on its own, but I knew my first snack was coming up in less time than normal.
I did a snack next instead of my usual lunch. I made a shake using the Smooth Vanilla Protein Drink mix. I added a few ice cubes, half a cup of Greek yogurt, half a dozen strawberries, half of a banana, half of a kiwi, and the juice from half an orange. With the juice from the orange I didn’t need to add water to this batch. It was flavorful and filling. The protein and fruit gave me a nice burst of energy to get my cleaning done.
It started to cool down around lunch time and I was in the mood for soup. I chose the Beans and Ham Soup which I paired with crackers and a stick of reduced fat snack cheese. It was just what I needed.
The Prince chose tacos for dinner, so I made the Chicken and Cheese Quesadilla to match their meal. I planned ahead well enough this time and heated it in the oven. The shell got nice and crispy and the texture of the filling seemed a bit improved. I didn’t add any extra fillings this time, but wish I had just for the improved texture. I added a nice green salad with cherry tomatoes and calorie-free French dressing.
I’m so glad my frozen packages had arrived so I could indulge in another Red Velvet Whoopie Pie. They look much larger in the picture than they are in real (I’m convinced it was smaller this time!), but it is a very satisfying little dessert.
I forgot to take a picture, but I snacked on a big glass of V8 later in the evening. I drank my veggies because I wasn’t really hungry, but I knew I was missing calories and veggie servings for the day. I still fell a bit short.
Today’s menu consisted of 1,316 calories, 81 grams protein, and 25 grams of fat.
