Pattern Link: Granny’s Cloth Revamped

Needles: Size 6 (4.00 mm) circular or straight needles

Yarn: 1.5 oz cotton/ linen blend for small infant cloth; 2 oz 100% cotton for medium dishcloths; 3 oz cotton/ linen blend for large spa cloths

Sizes: Small (infant washcloth), Medium (kitchen dishcloth), and Large (adult spa cloth)

Notes: Trust the pattern! I have seen a lot of comments on cloths similar to this one regarding the holes that form the decorative edge. When first reading through the pattern, many people don’t understand how you can get holes at either end when you only yarn over at the beginning of each round. Keep in mind… you turn the cloth with each row.

Have fun with the pattern! There’s no need to stick to solid colors. Dishcloths and washcloths are a great place to play with the many variegated and striped yarns available. The small red and blue cloth also show how you can take two coordinating colors to create your own unique design.
