Personal Experience: I was recently given the opportunity to try and review an interesting stress-relief product. I was skeptical, but stress creeps into my life and I was willing to try anything… and the fact that they help soldiers was a big plus in my book! It was a tough choice between some amazing possibilities, but I chose to review the Ocean scent. I have always favored seaside scents, so I figured this had the best shot of working on me. Tropics and Beach had good prospects, too. 😉

It may be hard for some to believe, but between writer’s block, tight deadlines, and balancing a work-at-home schedule blogging can be a pretty trying business. Add in worries over your husband’s job because of constant layoffs and… well… parenting life… and it’s a recipe for stress! As much as we all tell ourselves that we need to calm down, take it easy, and take a deep breath, we all know that’s not always plausible. I think you’d get a few strange looks plopping down at Wal-Mart for a yoga session, eh?

That brings me to the first thing I love about Pinch Me. It’s easily portable and you can use it anywhere rather discreetly. You can use as little or as much as you’d like or need. It fits into the palm of your hand and you just work it through your hands. It conjures memories of childhood play sessions with playdough… only this dough is so much better.

It’s very lightweight and soft. It feels like squeezing a ball of silk. That feeling alone contributes to the relaxation. It provides just the right amount of resistance to satisfy that need to squeeze something. You can also pinch some of it between your thumb and fingers to relax away tension in your hands… great if you type a lot during the day. Even after an hour of working the dough in my hand, it stays as soft and pliable as when I started. It doesn’t get sticky, but my hand does get a little oily. Little pieces will separate from the larger piece, but they don’t cling to my hand. The only change I notice is that it takes on the warmth of my hand and releases its aromatherapeutic scent.

This is the second thing I love about Pinch Me. The scent is perfect. It’s light and pleasant and it just keeps going and going. It takes you to your happy place and keeps you there with each squeeze. Even after many, many uses the scent is still like new.

It is safe for ages four and up. It is probably no surprise that a child would also enjoy handling Pinch Me. It appeals to that need for hands-on interaction in all of us. Between the texture, the scent, and the action of squeezing and pinching the dough, it really does help relieve stress. It focuses you. It even eases aches in the hands. And the sales help soldiers deal with stress, too… which is pretty darn cool. 😀

Since the initial review above, I have had the opportunity to try a new formula for Ocean as well as the Beach and Tropics scents. For starters, I didn’t think they could improve on the Beach scent, but they did it! It is a bit more subtle, but will leave you feeling even more like you’ve run away to the beach. It’s a cleaner and fresher beach scent… as though we’ve moved from a typical sand beach to a white sand beach. The coconut notes of the Tropics and the hint of suntan lotion on the Beach have given me even more great escapes.

A recent strain injury to my hand proved the Pinch Me Dough could expand on the relaxation by providing a naturally therapeutic way to ease the pain and restore the flexibility to my aching hands and wrists.

I’m also not sure if t was the batch I received or the new formulation, but I’m not noticing the same level of oiliness left on the skin. I love when a company is constantly aiming to improve their product.

Now, if I could just get these scents in a wax melt too I’d be the happiest little blogger on the planet! 😉

Pros: Great texture and pliability. The scent is amazing… I want to try them all! Truly works for reducing stress and aches! Great meditational tool. Easily portable. A portion of purchase goes to stress training for soldiers.

Cons: Leaves hands a little oily.
