Company Bio: I See Me! provides the highest quality, most personalized children’s books available. They opened for business in May of 2000, after a year of active product development.  The founders received a personalized book as a gift for their first son in 1998. They loved the fact that it was personalized, but thought that the illustrations could have been much better and the story more customized to the child. Thus I See Me! was born.

Their mission is to increase self esteem in children through personalized books that celebrate the uniqueness of each child. The goal of I See Me books is to show each child how absolutely unique and special he or she is, to teach the child how to spell his or her name, and to build vocabulary skills.

Personal Experience: If you’re looking for a great gift, there’s nothing like a personalized birthday book for kids. I See Me! provided me with a personalized copy of their My Royal Birthday Adventure title. It comes in a boy’s and a girl’s version… we received the boy version for our little Prince. :) They also sent a Kick, Score, Run! puzzle.

My Royal Birthday Adventure is a personalized storybook that turns your child into a royal birthday knight! The first thing that stands out are the beautifully drawn illustrations. The colors are muted yet each page is full of little details. You discover something new each time you read through the book. This is especially seen with the way your child’s name is worked into decorative hedges, banners, and more.

As always, the personalization flows seamlessly into the story. They write the stories in a way that your child’s name will fit right in and not feel like an afterthought. In this particular title, I enjoyed the opportunity to add a guest list to the royal event. It allowed us to bring Xander’s grandparents, cousins, and even our cats into the story.

The story is actually quite long. This book would work well for a variety of ages. Younger children will have many days worth of bedtime stories (Am I the only one to turn storybooks books into chapters? LOL) and older children would enjoy reading the story for themselves.

The 24-piece sports puzzle, Kick, Score, Run!, comes personalized with your child’s name. It is a playful design featuring popular sports objects. The puzzle is made on thick cardboard-like material… pretty typical sturdy construction for toddler puzzles. The pieces are cleanly cut and fit together neatly. The print itself is vibrant and would work beautifully as a framed wall-hanging…. yet it’s constructed sturdily enough for everyday play.

The prices of personalized products can get quite high regardless of which company you purchase from. The My Royal Birthday Adventure is a great value for the price. I do find the puzzle a bit over-priced, though.

They sell personalized stickers, coloring books, lunchboxes and placemats, too. You can see my original review here and my second review here.

Pros: Beautiful design and seamless personalization. Sturdily made items that will become treasured keepsakes.

Cons: I wish the story incorporated more family and friends’ names throughout the book. The puzzle is priced too high.
